In this case the foot may be a little flatter, so the arch needs to be lifted (that's what the foot elevation in the video does by unloading the leg).
The shin bone is turned out at a maximum and the femur is turning in. In the video, the foot turning in helps unlock the knee and untwist the position we are stuck in.
Now we know how this little annoyance comes about, below is a potential solution to treating that nagging little clicking sensation you get on the outside of your knee.
