What It Means To Get In Shape

5/8/2023

When the weather starts to break, we might say, "I need to get in shape." That's a pretty blanket statement because you must know what you are getting in shape for. Is it running? Hiking? Basketball? Tennis? The beach?

All of these have different requirements to meet the demands of the activity, but for argument's sake, we will take the general theme of what most people mean when they say that; they want to feel a little healthier and be fitter. Many fall short of this
achievement as they have a full head of steam, but they may get injuries or burn out too fast to keep up.

“Ugh, not again.”

I

Pain can be tricky as multiple factors contribute to it, but for the sake of argument, we are talking about mechanical pain that we get when we do something for a certain period or movements that cause it.

Squat Compensations - How Do I Fix Them?

3/12/2023

Squats are an excellent exercise for the lower body. They can also tell us a lot about how our bodies move too.

How do you know if you are creating a compensated or effective squat? We will expose the common compensations below

How Long Should Injuries Take To Heal?

2/5/2023

So you got an injury; now what?

Often, the classic muscle pull will get better after a few days to a week with general rest and care. When more serious injuries occur, such as a tendon or ligament tear, strain, or a fracture to a bone, it would be beneficial to know natural healing times and how that may affect our function.

The rate of recovery may vary between each of these scenarios, especially if surgery takes place or depending where in the body the injury has occurred.
